February Prayer & Fasting Day 2

This is day two of our 21 days of prayer and fasting.

If you haven’t downloaded the journal we’ve prepared, you can find it on the Kalamunda Church website under the resources section and download it there.

We are tracking through this together with daily devotionals, because fasting and prayer is not just about refraining from food — it’s about a spiritual purpose. It aligns us to hear from God more clearly and to seek Him first.

On day two, the devotional is called Returning to First Love. In Revelation chapter 2, the church received a rebuke: “You have forsaken your first love. Do the things you did at first.” Seek God like you did when you first fell in love with Jesus.

I believe fasting and prayer is one of the fastest ways to return to that first love we had for Him. Often we get busy in life, and fasting helps us slow down the busyness and re-prioritise what matters most.

So I want to encourage you — whether you’re doing a full fast, a partial fast, or you’re unable to fast from food and are fasting from other things — seek God in prayer and seek God in His Word this week. Spend time with Him and pray, “God, restore to me the joy of my salvation,” because there is nothing better than living from the joy of the salvation God gives us.

Father, I pray for day two for all those joining us. Strengthen them and sustain us, and Lord, help us to hear Your voice more clearly than before. For those who have drifted, let this season of prayer and fasting be a time to return to our first love and put You in Your rightful place, King Jesus.

Amen. God bless you.
